I am a big follower of the game Football Manager; it's essentially just data in the form of football. While I don't follow football as much as other sports, I have always loved the game.
There are a couple of online competitions that run Draft Mode, where everyone drafts a team from scratch, but it is hard to see how people's teams are built as a spectator. During the draft, my app works by uploading a CSV file of the draft history and for someone to click "Refresh Data" to keep the Shinyapp up to date.
I built a fully customizable team tactics screen for each team to counter this. The base screen has a list of all players that have been drafted, which can be filtered by team, position, and sorted by many options (Pick order, value order). There is also a distribution plot to see how many teams have drafted each position.
Each team has their own tab to allow for quick switches. By default, the players are listed as "Placeholder", which means it shows the position that he represents instead of a player name on the pitch. While the app resets after every use, it takes approximately 2 minutes to change the coding in the background to make it the default option for when the formation and starting line ups are confirmed. It is also set up to have load wait time so people can come back after each game to see how they would change the lineup for the next game.
