LW Week 1 Review Portfolio

These articles aim to give insight into who the best players to own throughout the season are.

Each week I will list each player that scored 30+ points in that week, who finished in the top 10 of their position standings as well as two sets of data for players who got close but didn't make the final steps.

This week was interesting because it was the first time tracking the data throughout the season and not just after giving me insight that I previously saw but ignored. This includes DeAndre Hopkins and Adam Thielen scoring 29.1 and 29.0 points in week 1 which doesn't match the threshold, but I'm certainly going to note and see who else goes close to the 30 point threshold. The way that I'm tracking the 30 point threshold is by noting the players who score between 25 and 29.9 each week and looking at perhaps adding another method into getting the prestigious "League Winner" status at the end of the season.

I have decided not to do the same for the top 10 rankings as that is already targeting underrated performances, but if I see someone that is consistently between 10-15, I might decide to track the data. I'm not a believer that just being around a top 10 player is benefitting your team unless it is someone with low ADP, deep starters required or deep benches.

Using my "The Unlucky Receiver" (TUR) Metric is another method I'm looking at to improve my League Winners Formula. I discuss my planned upgrades in the week 2 article of my TUR series, which hopefully will mean that I can track "luck" for QBs, RBs as well as WRs. Once this gets put in, then I will be very interested to see the results and how it impacts all positions. I've included TUR for the time knowing its unfairly helping WR; however, TUR2.0 will be able to go back and track QBs and RBs to boost them.
